WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No EXCELLENT BELIEVE (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: James Doyle

EXCELLENT BELIEVE appeared a tad unlucky not to open his account at the first time of asking over this course and distance last month. Heavily backed, he made his move with a wide sweep into the straight, and had he not lugged left inside the final furlong would have won. The outing has served to make the Nap more streetwise.

Race 5 No SLOWDOWNBARNEY
Trainer: John McConnell – Jockey: Hollie Doyle

A rare runner here for McConnell, SLOWDOWNBARNEY takes the eye at the foot of the weights. Until now the selection has done his all-weather racing exclusively at Dundalk, but importantly to his chance is that his form has greatly improved in four earning runs since Christmas, and he deserves a change of luck.

KELSO

Race 3 No8 FLASH DU PISTOLET
Trainer: William Coltherd – Jockey: Ross Chapman

hat-trick seeking FLASH DU PISTOLET a has enjoyed a bountiful first season’s chasing with four placed efforts preceding his successes at Newcastle and this course last month. He is fully in the zone, and probably progressing faster than the handicapper can keep pace with him.

Race 6 No3 EAGLES ROCK (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Cregan – Jockey: Mr John Dawson

EAGLES ROCK makes a belated first outing in a hunter-chase on the back of a couple of successes in points. He’s taken on by three other last time out winners in what looks a decent field, but with top assistance from the saddle can complete a fine hat-trick.

REDCAR

Race 4 No6 GOOD MORNING ALEX (Each Way)
Trainer: David Barron – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

GOOD MORNING ALEX enjoyed a bountiful 2024 campaign in which he was a five times winner on the all-weather and turf from ten outings. That progression was stemmed towards the end of the summer, but bearing in mind he has shown he can win off a break the Land Force gelding could be the answer to the best race on the card.

Race 6 No4 MISTER DAYDREAM (Each Way)
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Joe Fanning

One that has the potential to improve after a quiet season in 2024 is MISTER DAYDREAM. His three-year-old campaign numbered just three outings but apart from flopping here he posted a couple of earning runs either side of it and there are few miles on his racing clock.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 1 No1 TRAD JAZZ (Nap)
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Hector Crouch

This should be straightforward for TRAD JAZZ, for whom big things have been expected since her impressive winning debut at this course last August. The daughter of Sea The Moon has trained well ahead of this return to the track, and is considered to be at least Listed class be her able handler.

Race 7 No6 HEBRIDEAN NOMAD
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

In a tightly knit affair HEBRIDEAN NOMAD can call the shots. After opening his account here in the autumn of 2023 the selection endured an enforced break, but came back to trouble the judge in three of his four all-weather starts last year. He makes Lenny of appeal getting weight from the field.
