SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No4 JIMMY THE DIGGER (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Mr Archiell Jones

JIMMY THE DIGGER concedes age to his eight rivals in this hunter chase but has the ability to figure if on a going day. He’s not one to have immense trust on, but has schooled well since his early departure here last month, and is usually a good conveyance for an amateur rider.

Race 5 No4 MOONSHINE MAN (Nap)
Trainer: Henrietta Knight – Jockey: Brendan Powell

MOONSHINE MAN ran much better than his ninth placing indicates in a better race than this at Musselburgh where he jumped beautifully and was still in front approaching the final flight. Now returned to a maiden hurdle on an easy track, he can prove that he gets the trip and open his account as the best bet of the day.

Race 6 No4 LA PINSONNIERE
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

LA PINSONNIERE accounted for a decent foe when beating Nap Hand at Huntingdon and looks a mare that could have more to offer on better ground. She was not stopping at the finish, which augurs well for her following-up over this longer trip.

NEWCASTLE

Race 4 No5 LOW MILEAGE
Trainer: George Bewley – Jockey: Edward Austin

LOW MILEAGE went within a neck of opening his account at Musselburgh two weeks ago and appeals as a winner waiting to happen. Although 2lb higher in the ratings he showed he gets this trip well, and looks sure to be competitive.

Race 5 No7 GALAHAD THREEPWOOD (Each Way)
Trainer: Ewan Whillans – Jockey: Craig Nichol

GALAHAD THREEPWOOD has raced mainly on the Flat in his time with Whillans, but a couple of recent frame finishes over hurdles suggest he’s not far off regaining the winning thread in this code. He’s competing off a workable mark and if starting close to his paper price offers up good value.

Race 7 No12 TIPTOPTIM (Nap)
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

TIPTOPTIM makes the long haul from Lambourn with solid form behind him and needs treating seriously. He ran well to trouble the judge at Plumpton, and should benefit from being dropped back to two miles.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No6 NATIONAL HEALTH (Nap)
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Rob Hornby

Superior track craft is a card NATIONAL HEALTH can play effectively in this second division of the mile and a half handicap. The Seabhac gelding has made three consecutive podium finishes here, and granted luck in running deserves to put one on the board.

Race 6 No9 TILSWORTH ONY TA
Trainer: John Jenkins – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

Veteran handler Jenkins does well with his all-weather team and looks to have the answer to this classified sprint with the ultra consistent TILSWORTH ONY TA. The selection goes well for his apprentice rider, and can make the best of an overdue return to Dunstall Park.

Race 7 No8 SECOND COLLECTION
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Jack Doughty

SECOND COLLECTION has the luxury of the rail as she stretches out to 1200 metres in this open affair. The nine-year-old was doing her best work at the business end when third over the minimum trip here last week and can post an overdue first success of 2025.
