LINGFIELD PARK
Race 3 No3 KITTY FURNIVAL
Trainer: Simon Crisford – Jockey: Jack Mitchell
KITTY FURNIVAL hit the board with regularity through the winter while the race in which he finished second last time is working out. He’s a progressive individual who can continue in similar vein by scoring off an unchanged mark.
Race 5 No1 CITY OF POETS (Nap)
Trainer: James Tate – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
Ghaiyyath colt CITY OF POETS stands out following his earning run in a big field at Thirsk earlier in the month. He did not go unbacked that day, and will be more streetwise for this very winnable opportunity.
Race 7 No2 HOORNBLOWER (Each Way)
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
HOORNBLOWER came back from a protracted absence to score over course and distance on his reappearance 12 months ago, but owing to training issues only ran twice more. He looked short on stamina when last seen at Goodwood and will be happier back at a mile for a stable amongst the winners, while Rossa Ryan is an eye taking booking for him.
AYR
Race 6 No7 BARMYBLADE (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
On a tough card for punting BARMYBLADE looks the best value bet. She’s taking on a short favourite in City Of Strangers, but that filly was handed a 6lb rise for her impressive win and there might be productivity in the selection, whose chances will improve should there be a strong pace.
WINDSOR
Race 4 No7 ST MAWES (Nap)
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: David Probert
At an each way price ST MAWES can make the podium in this mile and a quarter maiden. He showed promise on both starts in 2024, especially when third to Tremorgio over that trip at Newmarket in the autumn. He attracted support and stayed on well to the line. He’s done well during the close season, and can cause problems for paper favourite Tycoon.
Race 6 No6 CHERRY COLA (Each Way)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Rose Dawes
Dawes has a good record on CHERRY COLA, who after failing to get home over an extended three miles at Wincanton and going winless for 20 months has slipped to an attractive mark off which she can be competitive in an open affair.
Race 7 No2 SKYELIGHT
Trainer: Dean Ivory – Jockey: Saffie Osborne
SKYELIGHT troubled the judge at Lingfield on her return from a long absence. The Earthlight filly was supported that day, and if this move onto grass goes well she can again get into the shake-up.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 1 No9 TRUSTY SCOUT
Trainer: Derek Shaw – Jockey: Mr E Cagney
TRUSTY SCOUT is well drawn for this race going round two left hand turns and should strip fitter than when second on his Southwell comeback. Although the winner Lednikov hosed up that day, there’s every chance the selection can raise his game and make it a third career win in the all-weather.
Race 4 No7 MYTHICAL BIRD (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Billy Loughnane
MYTHICAL BIRD improved from race to race in three starts last year, culminating in a very good effort in chasing home Protest at this course last October. The Phoenix Of Spain filly has stronger form than Crepe Suzette, who is carded to go off favourite.
Race 7 No1 SYNERGISM
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott- Jockey: Luke Morris
Like so many from the Prescott stable, SYNERGISM improved for a step up in trip to leave his juvenile form some way behind when scoring at this track. He landed some good bets, but was handed a 6lb penalty. However, granted his scope for progression over another move up the trip ladder he’s confidently expected to follow-up.
