KEMPTON PARK

Race 1 No1 PARCHMENT (Nap)
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Jack Tudor

PARCHMENT won on his only start in France at Auteuil before joining the Pond House team and is considered one of the best prospects in the stable. Having side stepped an opportunity last week he can remain unbeaten on the way to better things.

Race 3 No2 HANSARD
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Caoilin Quinn

JERIKO DU REPONET ended last season on a winning note following a couple of near misses and now switches to fences in the JP McManus colours. He’s a good prospect, but one that can cause him problems is HANSARD. the selection might have delivered when last seen at Plumpton while aside from that he was ambitiously campaigned, taking in races at both Cheltenham and Aintree. He’s sure to go well if his jumping stands the test on this first run over fences.

Race 7 No9 AT THE OCHE
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: James Turner

AT THE OCHE was narrowly denied on his handicap bow at Ascot after winning his novice and might be well treated. He has scope for progression and will experience better ground on this good draining course.

LUDLOW

Race 3 No4 WYENOT (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: David Bass

Locally trained WYENOT is a bet I’m looking forward to in this beginners’ chase. She faces three male rivals, none of whom can be safely left out, but on the basis of her form over hurdles last season has to be respected. Though put in her place in the mares’ champion bumper at Punchestown she’s now in a race she can dominate, and I hope her connections opt to do that.

Race 5 No8 LUCKY LUGGER (Each Way)
Trainer: Matt Sheppard – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

A speculative advice for this handicap chase is LUCKY LUGGER. Though prone to put in the odd poor run he was hampered before being pulled up when returning at Worcester, and can do better if getting onto the lead and putting in a clear. He might also have benefitted fitness wise for that run.

SEDGEFIELD

Race 6 No4 WILLIAM YEATS (Nap)
Trainer: Rebecca Menzies – Jockey: Nathan Moscrop

The only bet on a poor card for wagering comes in the concluding bumper via WILLIAM YEATS. It looks a weak affair, and the Nap hails from a stable that can get one ready, and should go well.

NEWCASTLE

Race 4 No1 HALLO SPACEBOY (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

Starman colt HALLO SPACEBOY has troubled the judge in both career starts at Grade 1 courses. The drop to 1000 metres should suit him in this battle with NORTH WEST GAL, who should form the other side of the exacta.

Race 7 No6 VALKYRJA
Trainer: Matt Crawley – Jockey: Warren Fentiman

If there’s one capable of ending the impressive winning sequence of Second Fiddle it is VALKYRJA. The Night Of Thunder filly enjoys plenty of cut in the ground, but though yet to win on sand she should enjoy this first visit to Gosforth Park.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 5 No10 RYE
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Jack Doughty

Having knocked on the door on her last two outings, RYE is perfectly drawn to again go close in this sprint around a left-handed bend. She showed on her latest start that this course brings out the best in her, and deserves to go one better.

Race 8 No8 CLOCH NUA
Trainer: Stella Barclay – Jockey: Steve Donoghue

CLOCH NUA proved a good servant to her owners last season, and although not being seen since April she should enjoy the return to the all-weather, on which she is a six times winner.

Race 9 No6 ALSHIMALI (Nap)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Josephine Gordon

A return to the 1000 metres trip can prove an ace card for ALSHIMALI, who hinted with an earning run at Lingfield last time that he’s ready for a return to the winners’ circle, while this looks a weak affair.
