AYR

Race 5 No3 PEMBROKESHIRE (Each Way)
Trainer: Iain Jardine – Jockey: Andrew Mullen

PEMBROKESHIRE has given clear signals that he’s on the cusp of ending a long losing run and from a good draw is worth a bet in this bottom-grade handicap. The hooded four-year-old may find Braes Of Doune and the penalised The Gay Blade the main barriers to success.

CARTMEL

Race 3 No5 CAVERN CLUB (Nap)
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Harry Cobden

CAVERN CLUB proved a well-supported winner of his first start for Owen at Chester and although soundly held in two subsequent outings is likely to enjoy the switch to hurdling as he’s been well tutored at home, and has the champion jockey in his irons.

Race 4 No1 TOWNHILL
Trainer: Tom Lacey – Jockey: Mr Ben Sutton

TOWNHILL makes a lot of sense in a race where those at the top of the handicap can dominate. The six-year-old has been partnered by Sutton in all but one of his ten outings since joining his trainer, and showed with a clear-cut recent conversion at Newton Abbot that he’s fully in the zone. He can end the winning sequence of Saint Bibiana, whilst also staving off the attentions of Boomslang.

Race 6 No4 NO REGRETS
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Sean Quinlan

Richards has been forced to play a waiting game with NO REGRETS, who owing to unsuitable ground has leap-frogged a couple of recent opportunities. The ten-year-old has a very good record when returning off a break, and the enforced delay in seeing him back on the track might prove a help to him rather than a hindrance.

BEVERLEY

Race 2 No11 VARIETY ISLAND (Nap)
Trainer: Simon Whitaker – Jockey: Sndrew Breslin

VARIETY ISLAND carried my vote when chasing home Jack Of Clubs at Beverley last week and now enjoys a swing in the weights with his penalised conqueror. Although he is an infrequent winner, this race looks set up for hi. To go very close.

Race 7 No4 MOUNT KING ( Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

MOUNT KING was easily put in his place at Carlisle last time but has figures of 22 on his visits to this course. He’s shown before that he can bounce back, and if getting luck in running can prevail.

WINDSOR

Race 3 No4 GLENDOWER (Nap)
Trainer: William Muir – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

Kingman filly Izipizi threatens to dominate the market which could lead to GLENDOWER proving a value alternative. The selection has troubled the judge on both career starts and can show that his good effort to chase home Lord Of Love at Salisbury was no fluke.

Race 5 No1 SIXTIES CHIC
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop

Coming back off a neat six-week break should assist SIXTIES CHOC in her bid to complete a hat-trick. She produced a telling change of gear to win under tonight’s jockey at Newbury while having also delivered at this track earlier in the season. In a race that should be run at a strong pace, she can again swoop to conquer.

Race 7 No1 SHALFA (Nap)
Trainer: Lydia Richards – Jockey: Neil Callan

SHALFA showed battling qualities when returning to form at Brighton and has been freshened up by a seven-week subsequent break. The mare is in great heart for this return to a track where she hasn’t fared well in the past, but can tonight.
