CARLISLE

Race 3 No1 KINGS MERCHANT
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: PJ McDonald

KINGS MERCHANT failed to menace when strong in the market at Thirsk but could have needed that second run back. His four career successes have been on the quick conditions he experienced today, and he can bounce back.

Race 5 No1 TWISTING PHYSICS (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Kevin Stott

TWISTING PHYSICS is a fascinating runner in this 1400 metres handicap on just a third start out of Whatcombe. The Dubawi gelding represents a Southwell race that has worked out particularly well, he’s been going great guns at home and can resume from where he left off last November in the colours of Fitri Hay.

Race 6 No5 CROWN’S LADY
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: PJ McDonald

Bethell has another good shot at goal with CROWN’S LADY, who has progressed and put a fourth win on the board at Wolverhampton last time. The grey drops back on the distance ladder and I expect her to be backed in similar fashion in her follow-up attempt.

REDCAR

Race 3 No6 ANOTHER BUNGLE
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

ANOTHER BUNGLE was having just a fourth career start when chasing home a subsequent winner at Ayr which was a major step up from the three efforts to obtain a handicap mark. He’s a speedily bred individual who has strong claims to open his account in this bottom grade contest.

Race 4 No1 ANALOGICAL (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Luke Morris

There will be no bargains price-wise about ANALOGICAL, but having scored by a wide margin on handicap bow at Beverley he’s sure to be even happier stretching out to a mile and threequarters, while with first time cheek pieces another bonus he can win again.

Race 5 No5 LEADENHALL
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Sean Kirrane

LEADENHALL makes abundant appeal granted the way he got out of trouble to win decisively at Pontefract. He competes at the same level and has useful experience of this course, making him the one to beat in an open affair.

WINDSOR

Race 3 No3 BLUE BOLT (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Blue Point filly BLUE BOLT attracted plenty of support only to disappoint on her Southwell introduction. She had shown ability in her work but might have suffered from stage fright, and is worth sticking with, as she will be more streetwise.

Race 5 No7 CRYSTAL MARINER
Trainer: Jamie Osborne – Jockey: Saffie Osborne

This is one of the best chances encountered by CRYSTAL MARINER since his move to Osborne from the retiring Sir Michael Stoute. The Sea The Stars gelding’s effort to finish second at Chelmsford on seasonal comeback was his best for a while, and he should enjoy this first run on grass in nine months.

Race 6 No7 KINGMAKER
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

One that could be well in at the weights is KINGMAKER, who was only beaten three and a half lengths when seventh to Grecian Legacy on his handicap bow at Goodwood. He was made 2-1 favourite and with the champion jockey on board can show those losses were merely lent.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 2 No1 GETREADYTORUMBLE (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass

GETTEADYTORUMBLE ran better than his final placing indicates when posting a midfield finish behind stablemate Crestofdistinction at Kempton. That was a satisfactory first effort, and while he’s still on the green side he could have learned sufficient to trouble the judge in this novice.

Race 4 No5 MEDINILLA (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass

MEDINILLA makes a lot of sense in the fillies’ handicap racing in the colours of Mick Channon. She gamely opened her account at Ripon last September and is well drawn to go well in this first handicap assignment.
