CHEPSTOW

Race 3 No5 WAKING DREAM
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Hector Crouch

As the only filly in the field WAKING DREAM receives a handy 5lb from the colts Feeraas and Hofburg. Unlike that paint, she’s not yet troubled the judge, but her debut effort when posting a midfield finish at Windsor is there to be improved on as she proved easy to back and suffered from inexperience.

Race 4 No7 ON EDGE
Trainer: Christopher Mason – Jockey: Gina Mangan

ON EDGE was very well ridden by Mangan to get up in the shadow of the post at Windsor a week ago. He has more to do in this Class5 but with conditions much the same he needs respecting and can follow up.

Race 6 No7 KALAMA SUNRISE (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

KALAMA SUNRISE did us a favour when winning at a double-figure price last week. The Coulsty filly is slightly up in the weights but looks the way to go and especially so if at this stage of the afternoon, you need to jump out of punting jail.

CARLISLE

Race 5 No7 GOLDEN MEMORY (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Oisin Orr

Although an infrequent winner, GOLDEN MEMORY can react positively to first-time blinkers to take the spoils in this tight-knit affair. The Belardo mare faces strong competition from Bushfire and JK Cobbler but with Orr back in the saddle can better her second to Shifter at Redcar at the end of May.

Race 6 No12 ZOFFANDIA
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand

ZOFFANDIA is amongst a trio of Newmarket-trained horses that should fill out the trifecta in this maiden. He took a walk in the market before claiming a minor cheque on debut at Nottingham but should have learned plenty from that. He should be able to progress past Condor Pasa who has already run three times.

WINDSOR

Race 4 No10 AMAZONIAN DREAM
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: Jack Gilligan

AMAZONIAN DREAM proved too strong for Many A Star over this course and distance a month ago. While there shouldn’t be much between them at the revised weights, the former made a big step up to claim that success, while his trainer is firmly amongst the winners.

Race 5 No7 THE GOOD BISCUIT (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert

THE GOOD BISCUIT left some cash behind when finishing fourth to Cool Dividend at Haydock where he was expected to do better. He looked to have the leaders covered, only to fail to mount a challenge. I’m not prepared to treat the form at face value and give him another chance to deliver in this Class3.

Race 6 No7 HIGH SPIRITED
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Trevor Whelan

HIGH SPIRITED provided a trace of ability when finishing third here two weeks ago. His only career success was gained at the riverside course while his trainer’s handicappers have been performing well.
