YORK

Race 2 No7 U TURN
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

A poignant success may await U TURN in this seller just four days after the passing of legendary trainer Peter Easterby, who loved York. The Land Force colt upped his game when second in a similar contest at Musselburgh and is ready to strike on turf that is hallowed terrain to his connections.

Race 4 No1 BLEEP TEST (Nap)
Traner: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

BLEEP TEST can double up for the Easterbys in this fillies’ restricted novice. She brInes strong form to the table and looks progressive, having backed up her eye taking first run with a snug triumph at Redcar. She goes to post with her tail up.

Race 5 No4 SEE THAT STORM
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

In a cracking race for older horses, SEE THAT STORM looks sure to go well breaking from the favoured rail. Getting a handy sit is crucial, even over this mile and a quarter trip, and if the gelding is in the first half dozen turning for home he should prove hard to beat. It was only in the final strides that he was parried in the Zetland Gold Cup which was a first defeat in five outings since joining his upwardly mobile trainer. He’s a real trier who will keep finding.

Race 6 No5 DOTHAN
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

The same trainer/jockey combo can strike in this 3yo only handicap with DOTHAN. He made no mistake on handicap bow at Doncaster before weakening at the business end in a better race at Musselburgh over 1200 metres. It appears this shorter 1000 metres trip is what he wants.

SANDOWN PARK

Race 7 No1 LAST SHAMARDAL (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Dual AW scorer LAST SHAMARDAL disappointed at Beverley but raised his game when only just out of the money in a warm 22-runner affair at York. That run suggests he’s more than capable of putting it all together on grass, while this looks easier.

CHESTER

Race 4 No5 TOPTEAM (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: PJ McDonald

TOPTEAM was a 14-1 shot when making no mistake on his first run in a handicap at this course and he’s strongly fancied to serve up a repeat on slower ground that he’s bred to like. He can take the spoils at the main expense of Magellan Cloud.

Race 7 No13 WHIZZ BY
Trainer: Tom Ward – Jockey: Alec Voikhansky

By way of having a far better draw, WHIZZ BY gets the vote over Barry’s Boy. The selection has carded successes in the first and last of his six appearances this year, and after his clear cut triumph under Voikhansky at Goodwood, looks the one to beat.

MARKET RASEN

Race 3 No2 SMUGGLERS HAVEN (Nap)
Trainer: Sara Bradstock – Jockey: Miss Lily Bradstock

SMUGGLERS HAVEN jumped beautifully on chase debut when inched out at Plumpton, and comes here with all guns blazing for her match up with Abingworth, who might prove a false favourite.

Race 4 No2 ROXANNE
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Garry Skelton

ROXANNE lost her unbeaten record over jumps when falling at Ffos Las. She is none the worse for that mishap, and faces a straightforward task in bouncing back in a handicap hurdle that has cut up in her favour.

GOODWOOD

Race 3 No2 PERCY SHELLEY (Nap)
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: George Wood

PERCY SHELLEY came away with a valid excuse after his midfield finish at Chester and can show himself in a new light on this undulating track, and especially if the forecast thunderstorms arrive.

Race 6 No5 ORBAAN
Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: Miss Olive Nicholls

Veteran ORBAAN can turn back the clock at a course where he was successful at the ‘Glorious’ fixture three years ago. He will receive good assistance from the saddle in this amateur jockeys’ contest.
