The Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday is the highlight race of the meeting at this year’s Cheltenham Festival, and it’s probably as open as it’s ever been!

The reigning champion, IKNOWTHEWAYURTHINKIN has had a really poor season by his standards, but apparently word on the street is that he is back to his best in preparation for this so you cannot rule him out.

THE JUKEBOX MAN, owned by Harry Redknapp, won the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day, but a lot of people think this will be a sterner test of stamina. The hill at Cheltenham might just suit him. Apparently, he’s quite a lazy worker at home, but I don’t think you can rule him out.

And then JANGO BAIE, last year’s Arkle winner, which he won despite it not suiting him. He was staying on all the time. He’s now up to a seriously longer trip, but a trip that I think will suit him. And Nicky Henderson has got form in this race. So I’m going to go for JANGO BAIE in what is a really open race.
