JCB Triumph Hurdle 13:30

Starting off the day Dan has picked NURBURGRING over the favourite Majborough. Nurburgring, trained in Ireland by JP O’Brien, is a more than useful juvenile hurdler.

BetMGM County Handicap Hurdle (Premier Handicap) 14:10

The Gordon Elliott-trained KING OF KINGSFIELD is Dan’s each-way selection here. Third behind Ballyburn and Slade Steel (both winners here this week) last time out is enough said. Leading English trainer, Dan Skelton, sends out the French gelding L’eau Du Sud.

Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle 14:50

Dan chooses another each-way in the form of CAPTAIN TEAGUE, which finished third in the Champion Bumper last season and has now converted to hurdles. The festival’s leading trainer, Willie Mullins has five in the race, including the favourite Readin Tommy Wrong.

Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase 15:30

The big one! Dan cannot see past the favourite GALOPIN DES CHAMPS for the main race of the festival. This Willie Mullins-trained gelding is going for a famous Gold Cup Double and looks in good form having landed the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown early last month.

St. James’s Place Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters’ Chase 16:10

Dan’s confident selection here is ITS ON THE LINE. Out of Emmet Mullins’ yard, this Irish gelding has won his last two races beating a couple who re-oppose here.

Mrs Paddy Powers Mares’ Chase 16:50

Dan’s pick for this Mares’ race is ALLEGORIE DA VASSY. The Willie Mullins number 1 stable jockey Paul Townend, takes on stable companion and favourite Dinoblue, ridden by the very capable Mark Walsh, successful with Fact To File for Mullins earlier this week.

Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle 17:30

Rounding off the festival Dan has opted for a roughie in the form of TEDDY BLUE. This Gary Moore trained gelding is well worth an each-way bet, in an open looking race.
