CARLISLE

Race 3 No1 MARSH WREN (Each Way)
Trainer: Stuart Edmunds – Jockey: Charlie Hammond

As the winner of three of her six starts, MARSH WREN has scope for development and the six-year-old is considered more forward that when needing her comeback outing last season. On her first visit to this course the stiff uphill finish should play to her strengths.

Race 4 No5 TOMMY’S OSCAR (Nap)
Trainer: Ann Hamilton – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

High class handicap hurdler TOMMY’S OSCAR buckled down well to resist Geromino in a match for his first run over fences over course and distance last month. The form has been endorsed by the second, and the Nap will also have learned much from that experience.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 1 No3 CELTIC ART (Each Way)
Trainer: Jeremy Scott – Jockey: Rex Dingle

A one-time Classic hope when trained by Paul Cole, CELTIC ART has proved a good servant to his new connections on the Flat, but could find further pickings now switched to hurdling. He will have no problems going two miles, and if his jumping stands the test can make an immediate impact.

Race 3 No4 HORN CAPE (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: TBC

HORN CAPE has not so far been able to reproduce on the track what he shows at home, and to confound things he’s also met with training issues. On a first run in nor far short of a year he’s worth backing to bring his better side to the table.

Race 5 No1 FIDDLERONTHEROOF (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

This is a readying run for FIDDLERONTHEROOF before he takes a shot at the Coral Trophy, affectionately know to all race fans as the Hennessy. The eight-year-old won over fences before finishing second in that Newbury feature in 2021, and as a horse that goes well fresh can earn in this first hurdling venture since the 2020 Cheltenham Festival.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 2 No10 PURE ANGEL
Trainer: James Horton – Jockey: PJ McDonald

Ardad filly PURE ANGEL floats my boat as one of the best wagering options on this card as she goes into battle off near misses at Haydock and this track. She regularly attracts market support, but will need to be on her A-game to threat The Big Board and Erosion Risk.

Race 3 No3 BEAR FORCE
Trainer: Jonny Portman – Jockey: Rob Hornby

BEAR FORCE is favoured by the draw in this nursery, having obtained a mark by finishing third in a Brighton maiden. The Kodi Bear gelding can get into the thick end of the argument if going forward from that.

Race 5 No5 RED HAT EAGLE
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Neil Callan

While any support for Savvy Brilliance could prove significant, RED HAT EAGLE a is a softer option granted he already has points on the board. That happened when the Gleneagles colt took away a cheque in Alzahir’s race at Lingfield, for which he was easy to back and will be more streetwise.

Race 7 No9 ROSE LIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: PJ McDonald

Nathaniel filly ROSE LIGHT qualified for a mark when second at Newcastle on her latest start, but interestingly her trainer has elected to try and win a maiden with her. From a very good draw and with the same jockey that rode her there, she should prove hard to beat.
