Neil Morrice provides his best bets and tips for Tuesday’s racing at Brighton, Leicester and Kempton Park.
BRIGHTON – 05/10/2021
Race 7 No1 SONNETINA (Each Way)
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Harry Burns
SONNETINA ran one of her best races of the season under this apprentice pilot when second at Lingfield two starts back and can now leave an underwhelming recent run at Salisbury behind her. Her trainer notched his biggest win of the season on Saturday, while this filly has shown she can handle the Brighton undulations.
Race 8 No6 ICONIC MOVER (Each Way)
Trainer: Pat Phelan – Jockey: Aidan Keeley
With three duck eggs going into a handicap for the first time ICONIC MOVER is worth a market check. The Sixties Icon gelding has started 500-1 and 200-1 on his two outings since debuting in a seller, but hails from a yard that can get one ready.
LEICESTER – 05/10/2021
Race 8 No16 SOVEREIGN SLIPPER (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Laura Coughlan
SOVEREIGN SLIPPER needs to be taken seriously in this numerically strong nightcap in which the colt is getting weight from all but one of his foes. He has posted frame finishes in three of his last four outings but needs to put the good work he shows on the home gallops into action on the track itself.
HUNTINGDON
Race 6 No2 SIXTIES SECRET (Nap)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Marc Goldstein
The last time SIXTIES SECRET stepped away from the Sussex circuit she ran well as an unconsidered outsider here. On her first outing of the current season she was the only one to make a race of it with Strike The Flint, and if turning up in similar form can give top weight Salley Gardens plenty to think about.
Race 3 No3 ARGONAUTA (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Webber – Jockey: Stan Sheppard
Paper favourite Galata Bridge will probably not run if having turned out at Stratford and that can leave the path clear for ARONAUTA to prevail. The Newcastle bumper winner couldn’t build on that in a better race at Ayr, but was not disgraced, while he’s thought to be fit and ready for this seasonal return and first outing over jumps.
KEMPTON PARK – 05/10/2021
Race 3 No10 PNEUMATIC (Each Way)
Drying conditions at Redcar didn’t suit PNEUMATIC who can bounce back on this first outing on the Polytrack. The Churchill colt had looked unlucky on his previous outing at Thirsk, staying on into the money from an impossible position, and granted a similar effort can get into the shake-up.
Race 6 No8 NIGHT ARC (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Jamie Spencer
Twilight Son colt NIGHT ARC has followed the shadow of Tartan Chief in defeats at Salisbury and Windsor but on only a second outing on the all-weather can go one better. He’s running as well as at any time this year, and can deliver a big earning run on this first outing in a month.
