Neil Morrice provides us with his best bets and tips for Monday’s Racing (04/10/2021) at Lingfield Park, Ponterfract and Stratford.
LINGFIELD PARK – 04/10/2021
Race 1 No4 MIQUELON (Nap)
Trainer: Archie Watson – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
MIQUELON has looked a new broom since being equipped with cheek pieces, winning twice and being placed on his three other starts. From a favourable draw he has a good chance of following-up a recent course and distance triumph.
Race 2 No4 FOZZIE BEAR
Trainer: Roger Charlton – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
While its impossible to run you pen through the names of any in this nursery, FOZZIE BEAR showed with defeat in a blanket finish at Thirsk that he’s on the cusp of enjoying a change of luck. That was his fourth earning effort in as many starts, and indicates he’s ready to deliver.
PONTEFRACT – 04/10/2021
Race 2 No1 ALEEZDANCER (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Kevin Stott
A return to softer ground can prove keynote to ALEEZDANCER taking out this competitive nursery. The top weight notched back-to-back successes in such conditions in the spring, before hinting that he’s on the way back with a frame placing in an Ayr nursery in which he finished strongly. This stiff track with its uphill climb to the line should be ideal for the gelding.
Race 4 No7 FOLLY BEACH (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Rob Hornby
Golden Horn filly FOLLY BEACH has marked time through the summer and could have needed her latest outing on the Lingfield Polytrack. She’s been shaping well at home, and is capable of better than she’s shown so far.
Race 7 No5 GRANTLEY (Each Way)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: PJ McDonald
GRANTLEY is holding his form well, and after earning runs in better races at Ripon and Beverley can make this a first success since the spring. He’s a versatile individual who in first time blinkers can trump his mainly older rivals.
STRATFORD – 04/10/2021
Race 4 No2 GALATA BRIDGE (Nap)
Trainer: Dr Richard Newland – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
Plumpton scorer GALATA BRIDGE is the least experienced candidate in the field on his handicap debut. He looked to score with something in reserve that day, and can take the measure of another recent winner in Samba Dancer.
WOLVERHAMPTON – 04/10/2021
Race 3 No7 DE VEGAS KID (Each Way)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Marco Ghiani
Support for DE VEGAS KID went west when the gelding finished last of four at Brighton, where he’s been exclusively campaigned on his last five outings. He’d fired a couple of near-misses previously and should enjoy returning to this surface for the first time in 10 months.
Race 4 No7 CARMELA SOPRANO
Trainer: John Jenkins – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark
Hellvelyn filly CARMELA SOPRANO has been a willing servant to connections and looks in a good spot to notch a first success at this track after a solid run last time that signals she’s ready to fire.
