The PGA Tour recently created the Returning Member Programme in an attempt to lure some big names back from the breakaway tour. Brooks Koepka signed up, and he’s set for a plethora of financial penalties.
In a press conference for the LIV Golf captain on Tuesday, the trio confirmed they would not be swayed.
“I’m contracted through 2026, so excited about this year,” quipped DeChambeau when asked about his future in the Saudi-funded league.
Rahm, who captains Legion XIII, followed suit.
“I’m not planning on going anywhere, so very similar answer to what Bryson gave,” said the two-time major winner.
“I wish Brooks the best, and as far as I’m concerned, I’m focused on LIV for this year and hoping my team can repeat as champs.”
Smith, who capitalised on his 2022 Open Championship victory and bolted for LIV about a month later, is enjoying his golf on the LIV tour.
“I’ve made my bed and I’m going to sleep in it,” said the Australian.
“I feel like I’m in a really good place in my career and my family life. I don’t need to change it. I’m really excited for 2026 and I think our team is going to have one of the best years yet, and I can’t wait to see what we’re going to do on the golf course.”
The PGA Tour’s Returning Member Programme is quite narrow and ends on 2 February. Only players who have been away from the PGA Tour for at least two years and have won The Players Championship or a major between 2022-2025 were eligible. That meant Rahm, DeChambeau and Smith were the only LIV players able to consider a return.
