Manager Enzo Maresca broke the news to the public during a press conference that the 24-year-old might leave Chelsea this month.

“ When the transfer window is open, unfortunately or fortunately, anything can happen.

“This also involves Nico’s situation. At the moment, we also had two strikers arrive, Joao and Liam. So we will see what happens.”

Jackson joined the Blues in June 2023 from Villarreal. The forward recently put pen to paper, signing a nine-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2033. Chelsea are looking to sell the young football star and hope to make at least double the £32 million they paid to acquire him.

Clubs that have expressed interest in the Senegal international include Newcastle,  Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and several clubs in Italy.

Jackson has been seen training alone and was left out of the squad list against Bayern Leverkusen. He has made 81 appearances for the club, scoring a total of 30 goals.

Sky Sports presenter and reporter Michael Bridge says,” Chelsea have to hurry up, he’s only got eight years left on his contract. Looks like this is the model Chelsea has done, you know, and it’s working for Chelsea. They have had a few great months.

“So, it’s an interesting one because Chelsea have a lot of games next season. Of course, they’re back in the Champions League .

“They’ve gone from Conference League to Champions League . They see themselves of as a Champions League Club , rightly so. They’ve just won the World Club Cup and they’ll value him Highly”.

Chelsea reportedly value Jackson at more than £52 million. If their asking price is not met, the club is prepared to reintegrate him into the squad for the upcoming season.
