And while many are surprised that Villa didn’t push to secure his signature, especially after he scored four goals for them in the 2024/25 season after joining in February  and delivered some of his best performances compared to his previous form at United, the decision came down to finances.

Despite his resurgence on the pitch, Rashford’s reported wages of £300,000 to £350,000 per week posed a significant financial risk. For Villa, taking on that salary, especially after missing out on Champions League qualification and the revenue that comes with it.

The Red Devils has given Rashford and four other players ( Alenjando Garnacho , Jadon Sancho, Anotony and Tyrell Malacia ) extra time -off to deal with transfers and may only return to Old Trafford once their futures are clear.

Clubs rumored to be interested in Rashford include Bayern Munich,New castle , AC Milan, and Juventus, but Barcelona appears to be the only club showing serious and public interest.

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco and manager Hans Flick have both publicly expressed their admiration for Marcus Rashford, who Manchester United appears willing to sell.

Rashford also hinted at a move to the Catalan giants, saying, “Yes, for sure. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully, we’ll see.”

It would be sad for fans to see Rashford leave Manchester United, as he has been with the club since he was seven years old. It would also be heartbreaking for him, having grown up at the club.

Right now, he feels rejected because Ruben Amorim sees him as the black sheep of the family after conflicts over his habits and attitude.

Amorim even went as far as saying he would  rather field 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital than play someone who isn’t showing the hunger to compete.According to Amorim, Rashford wasn’t displaying the mindset of a player “giving his maximum every day.”
