The potential departure could fuel the Reds’ ambitions to reshape their squad before the transfer window slams shut.

The Merseyside outfit have been active in the market, with notable exits like Luis Diaz, who joined Bayern Munich for 75 million euros. Liverpool have also strengthened their ranks with high-profile arrivals, including Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, and Hugo Ekitike, as they aim to maintain their Premier League dominance under manager Arne Slot.

Nunez, who has slipped down the pecking order at Anfield, has emerged as Al-Hilal’s top target after the Saudi club failed to secure Napoli’s Victor Osimhen or RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

“Nunez has given the green light to Al-Hilal, and negotiations are advancing,” transfer journalist Rudy Galetti revealed on X, emphasizing that a verbal agreement is already in place with the player.

Liverpool are holding firm on a 100-million-euro valuation for the Uruguayan, with 75 million euros guaranteed and 25 million euros in potential add-ons, recouping the fee they paid Benfica in 2022. European clubs like Napoli and Juventus have shown interest but are unlikely to meet the Reds’ asking price.

The funds from Nunez’s potential exit could pave the way for Liverpool to pursue other targets, with Newcastle United’s star forward Alexander Isak on their radar. The Reds recently had a 110-million-pound bid for the Swedish striker rejected, but sources indicate they are preparing a renewed offer before the window closes.

“Liverpool have sent a clear message to Isak: we are ready and have the money,” transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said, underscoring the club’s intent to land the 27-goal striker who lit up the Premier League last season.

Adding to the transfer intrigue, Real Madrid have reignited their pursuit of Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister.

Spanish outlet Fichajes reported that the La Liga giants are preparing a 100-million-euro bid for the midfielder, who has been a revelation since his 40-million-euro move from Brighton in 2023. “Real Madrid are seeking a high-calibre midfield reinforcement,” the report noted, highlighting Mac Allister’s growing reputation.

With Nunez’s exit looming and interest in Mac Allister heating up, Liverpool’s transfer strategy is in full swing.

The coming weeks could see the Reds reshape their squad with a bold move for Isak, making this a defining moment in their Premier League campaign.
