Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane no longer has a release clause in his contract, but the club are already looking at extending his stay beyond 2027.
Speaking to Bild, the Bayern Munich supervisory board member made Bayern’s position crystal clear.
“Yes, I’d like to make that clear,” Hoeness said when asked whether the club want to extend Kane’s deal. “Harry is a stroke of luck for us. Because his release clause for the summer of 2026 has now expired and his contract runs until summer 2027, we are currently under no pressure.”
With the clause now expired, Bayern Munich hold complete control over any potential transfer situation. There is no fixed-fee exit looming, and that strengthens their hand as they consider offering improved terms to their leading scorer.
Kane’s performances justify that confidence. Since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023, he has scored a remarkable 126 goals in 131 appearances in all competitions.
The 2025/26 campaign has been another extraordinary chapter. Kane has played 35 matches across all competitions, scoring 41 goals and providing five assists.
In the Bundesliga alone, he has struck 26 times in 22 games, adding five assists. In the Champions League, he has scored eight goals in eight appearances. He has also netted six goals in four DFB-Pokal matches and added one more in the Supercup.
Those numbers underline not just consistency, but dominance. Kane has remained Bayern’s focal point in every major competition, combining ruthless finishing with intelligent link-up play and leadership in key moments.
