The 41-year-old Englishman, whose side drew 1-1 with Nice in Ligue 1 on Saturday, has emerged as a leading contender to replace Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge. However, Rosenior insisted no formal discussions have taken place.

“I haven’t discussed anything at this point,” he said. “I know Chelsea are looking for a manager and it’s our sister club, but my focus is here. Strasbourg has given me so much – the players, the fans, the city – it’s not respectful to talk about anything else straight after a game.”

Rosenior acknowledged the speculation but warned against being distracted by it. “There’s a lot of noise,” he said. “But as a coach, if you get involved in that, you fail. My job is here.”

While stopping short of committing his long-term future, he underlined his affection for the club. “I love this club and enjoy myself here every day,” he added. “But in football there are no guarantees. Nobody can control everything.”

Rosenior did confirm there has been some contact with Chelsea’s owners BlueCo due to the shared ownership structure, but said it has not altered his approach. He also revealed the rumours have barely affected the squad, aside from “a few light-hearted jokes”.

“There are no plans” for him to attend upcoming Chelsea matches, he said, reiterating that his priority remains Strasbourg as Chelsea continue their search for a new manager.
