Despite the Reds’ dominant 2024/25 Premier League campaign, where they secured their 20th title under head coach Arne Slot, Elliott struggled to break into the starting lineup, making just two Premier League starts.

Elliott, a boyhood Liverpool fan, expressed his frustration at limited opportunities following a foot injury that sidelined him early in the season. “I’m 22 now, turning 23 next season. I don’t want to waste years in my career, it’s a short one, and you never know what’s going to happen,” Elliott said.

“I need to reflect on whether I’m content and how I can improve. If that means going somewhere else, it’s a decision I’ll have to make.”

Despite his love for the club, Elliott emphasized his ambition to grow. “Nothing makes me want to leave. I love the club, the fans, the team, I support them too. But it’s about what’s best for my career,” he added. “After my injury, I hoped for more chances, but football is football.”

Slot, who relied heavily on a core group of 13-15 players during Liverpool’s title-winning season, acknowledged Elliott’s limited role. “Harvey hasn’t had as much playing time as he maybe deserved,” Slot said in May.

“He was injured for a long time, and when he came back, he wasn’t at his old level. But in the last few months, he’s been back to his best, and his minutes have gone up.”

Recent updates on X indicate growing interest in Elliott from other clubs. Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund have emerged as potential suitors, with Leverkusen reportedly considering Elliott as part of a deal for Liverpool’s prime target, Florian Wirtz.

Several Premier League clubs, including Bournemouth and Brighton, are also keen, with Liverpool valuing the midfielder at over 40 million pounds.

While Elliott remains committed to improving at Liverpool, his comments and the interest from elsewhere suggest a crucial summer ahead for the talented midfielder.

The Reds, meanwhile, are expected to be active in the transfer market, with potential signings like Wirtz and others linked to bolster Slot’s squad for the 2025/26 season.
