Jordan Henderson is poised for a return to the Premier League, with the Liverpool legend set to sign a two-year deal with Brentford after his exit from Ajax.
The 35-year-old midfielder agreed to terminate his contract with the Dutch club a year early and is expected to complete formalities with Brentford in the coming days. Henderson’s return to English football would bring valuable experience and leadership to Thomas Frank’s side, who are looking to fill the void left by former captain Christian Norgaard’s move to Arsenal.
Despite attracting interest from several clubs across Europe and the Premier League, Brentford have emerged as the frontrunners for Henderson’s signature in what is being seen as a smart, strategic addition to their squad.
