The Toffees are chasing their first win at Liverpool since 2021.

Moyes confirmed that defenders Vitalii Mykolenko and Jarrad Branthwaite are making “good progress” after being doubts due to knocks. “They are making progress and we will see, we have got a couple of knocks within the camp, but we’ll see how they are,” he said.

Everton have impressed in recent fixtures, sitting sixth in the table, with a defence that has become harder to break down. Jack Grealish (on loan), Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have played major roles in creating chances and driving the team forward.

Liverpool, under Arne Slot, are top of the Premier League and have built a reputation this season for decisive late goals. They beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 in the Champions League, with Virgil van Dijk scoring deep in stoppage time.

Alexander Isak, Liverpool’s record signing in the summer, may feature more prominently following an encouraging debut, though he is still building his match fitness.

Victory for Everton at Anfield would not only end Moyes’ long winless run there, it would be a powerful signal in their bid to push toward European qualification.

With Mykolenko and Branthwaite possibly available, Everton believe they can cause trouble.
