He sang a different tune and praised the Red Devils, acknowledging the very important role they have played in building his football career since the age of seven.

“The situation with Man Utd, the club is in a period of change, and they have been for a while.

“I don’t have anything bad to say about Man Utd. It’s been an important part of not only my career but my life.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to play for them but football is the same as life, and not everything goes as simple as you may have thought.

“This is my next step, my next chapter, and I am fully focused on trying to improve myself and help the team win trophies.

“I just wish Man Utd the best and hope they are successful in the future.”

Rashford is now a new team member of FC Barcelona, as he has signed a loan deal for the 2025/26 season with an option to buy him next summer. It is understood that the option is around £26 million.

The English football star will wear the No. 14 jersey, previously worn by four Barcelona legends, including one of his idols, Thierry Henry.

“I know the history behind this number. I feel a huge responsibility and am honoured to wear it, just as Johan Cruyff and Henry did.”

In this deal, Barcelona will pay all of Rahford’s wages even though the club can’t currently register him due to La Liga’s financial rules.

The club is rumored to have spent more on signings and wages than they made in revenue for the 2024/25 season.

According to La Liga regulations, clubs can only spend as much as they generate. Therefore, Barcelona will need to make sales, reduce wages, or increase their revenue streams in order to make room for new signings.

The Spanish club has until the end of August to resolve this, and they remain confident that they will be able to register Rashford along with their other new signings by then.
