Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has shut down rumors that he has been listed as a suitable candidate to replace Xabi Alonso.
The 58-year-old left Liverpool in 2024 due to him “running out of energy,” and he needed some time to rest. He cut his rest short as last year in January 2025, he joined Red Bull as Global Head of Soccer.
Speaking to Servus TV, Klopp said, “My phone did actually ring – but not from Madrid.
“There were, however, a few people who felt they needed to bring it up with me.”
