The 29-year-old is scheduled to undergo a medical on Monday afternoon.

Grealish did not have a great 2024/25 season, making only seven league starts for the Citizens and spending much of the FA Cup final on the bench in their defeat to Crystal Palace.

In June, the winger told management that he wants more game time but at the back of his mind he also read the writing on the wall, that he is not part of Pep Guardiola’s plans, and would like a fresh start at a new club.

“Jack is an exceptional player. The only reason why he didn’t play last season is of course my decisions. We decide that he has to play. The club was honest, he was honest,” Guardiola said in a press conference last season.

“We decide the best is to stay [behind] and have a place that he can feel like he can come back to be the player like he was in the year of the treble or all his career in Aston Villa.

“The fact is in the last two seasons he didn’t play much minutes. He has to come back to play and have the butterflies in his stomach that he can play every three days, every three days and show again the quality he has.”

Everton manager David Moyes has always been a fan of the England football star, and it is rumored that Moyes had a private conversation with Grealish to convince him to make the move.

Moyes is determined to push him harder to bring out the best in him, and who knows, he might even make it to Thomas Tuchel’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Grealish joined City from Aston Villa in August 2021 on a record fee of £ 100 million. He has scored 17 goals, making 157 appearances with 23 assists. He has been part of the success of Manchester City winning the treble in 2023 lifting the Premier League, Champions League and the FA Cup.

Grealish might make his debut in the Premier League for Everton against Leeds United on August 18 if the medical goes well. Everton has until September 1 to seal and complete the deal, as the transfer window will be closing.
