The deal includes an obligation to buy the player from 20-million pounds to 25-million pounds, provided that the Blues finish at least 14th in the Premier League this season. However, the London based club are cruising in the top five in fourth place.

Sancho joined Chelsea in August on a season-long loan. He has contributed just one assist in 18 appearances since scoring the last of his two goals this season against Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where Chelsea won by 4-3 on the 8th of December.

The 25-year-old left Old Trafford after having a fallout with the former manager Erik Ten Hag.

The reason for the bad blood was that Sancho said on social media he has “been a scapegoat for a long time”, but Ten Hag stood by the fact that he did not include him in the squad because “of his performance in training, we didn’t select him”.

Sancho’s United contract runs until 2026, with an option to extend by a further year.

Chelsea Manager Enzo Maresca has spoken highly of Sancho since joining the football club family and says he is doing very well for himself and his future looks bright with the Blues.

“I am quite surprised with Jadon, because I knew Jadon already from seeing him at his previous clubs and I know what I expected from him, but in terms of being consistent, he’s doing very well.”

United part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has revealed that United are still paying off the huge 73 million pounds that they bought Sancho for in July 2021.

If Chelsea ends up buying Sancho, it will be a huge relief for the Red Devils due to the fact that they are sinking in debt right now sitting at over 1-billion pounds.
