Despite his slow integration into the Premier League, the Blues are keeping a keen eye on the 19-year-old French talent.

Yoro, whose transfer from Lille to Manchester United cost 52.2 million pounds, with potential add-ons reaching up to 58.9 million pounds, has been highlighted as a “crucial” part of United’s future by manager Ruben Amorim.

According to transfer expert Simon Phillips, Chelsea’s scouting team has included Yoro in their shortlist of potential defensive acquisitions.

Amorim has been vocal about his plans for Yoro, with Fabrizio Romano reporting on X that the young defender was considered an “ideal player to sign” even in discussions before Amorim took the helm at Old Trafford. “Leny Yoro made his debut for Man Utd [on Wednesday] and will be crucial part of Ruben Amorim’s project,” Romano stated in December.

He further emphasized in January that “Ruben Amorim and his staff are very happy with Leny Yoro and his development.”

Despite Chelsea’s interest, Amorim’s stance on selling Yoro is clear. He views the young defender as one of the “untouchable” players at the club, suggesting that any move for Yoro by Chelsea or any other club would face significant resistance.

In related news, Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has advised Christian Eriksen on his next move as his contract nears its end.

Schmeichel suggested that Ajax would be a fitting destination for Eriksen, aligning better with his playing style than the high-intensity demands of Amorim’s system at United. “That (move to Ajax) would be a great step for him,” Schmeichel said, highlighting Eriksen’s technical skills over his physical attributes which are less suited to the current Premier League pace.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly contemplating another bid for a Premier League defender they were previously unable to sign due to UEFA regulations, indicating the club’s ongoing quest to bolster their backline.
