With his contract ticking down to its final months, Salah ranks among the elite players set to hit free agency in the summer of 2025, trailing only a handful of global stars in that category.

The Reds find themselves at a crossroads, with not just Salah but also Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk facing contract expires in 2025.

While Alexander-Arnold’s youth and links to Real Madrid—where the Spanish giants are hunting a long-term successor to Dani Carvajal—make him the most likely to depart, Salah and Van Dijk have been pivotal in Liverpool’s blistering Premier League campaign under Arne Slot.

Recent whispers suggest both veterans are leaning towards staying with the runaway league leaders.

Salah’s stock has never been higher. The 32-year-old has racked up an astonishing 30 goals and 21 assists in 38 appearances this season, including 25 strikes and 16 assists in the Premier League alone.

His form has only intensified the spotlight on his future. Liverpool famously turned down a massive offer from Saudi Arabia 18 months ago, a bid reportedly worth up to 150 million pounds, while sporadic rumors have tied him to Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Yet a fresh report from France paints a different picture: Salah has no interest in discussing an exit and wants to stay put at Anfield.

“There’s no truth to him talking with other clubs right now,” a source close to the situation said. “Mohamed’s heart is with Liverpool, and that’s where he sees himself.”

Salah hasn’t been shy about his frustrations, though. Back in late November 2024, he aired his disappointment over the lack of a new contract offer, saying, “I’m waiting, but nothing’s come yet.” By early January 2025, ahead of a clash with Manchester United, he added, “Still no update.”

Recently, however, he’s clammed up when pressed, as has Van Dijk, with both stars seemingly keen to avoid distractions during Liverpool’s title charge.

Alexander-Arnold’s case adds another layer of intrigue. Real Madrid, rebuffed in a late-December push, has been free to negotiate with him since January 1, but the Liverpool Echo reported the Reds are clinging to hope. “The club still believes they can convince Trent to stay through his prime years,” the outlet noted, highlighting their optimism about keeping the homegrown talent.

The mixed signals keep fans on edge, but for now, Salah’s focus—and his heart—appear locked on Liverpool.
