The offer, reportedly under 22 million pounds, was dismissed outright, with the club resolute in keeping Wissa at least until the summer.

Forest, who have made Wissa a top transfer target, will have to look elsewhere or significantly increase their bid to sway Brentford’s stance.

Wissa, the Bees’ all-time Premier League top scorer, has been in scintillating form this season, outshining even his teammates Bryan Mbeumo and Cole Palmer with a superior goals-per-minute ratio.

Recognized as one of the top 10 strikers in the league, his contributions have been pivotal for Brentford, making him indispensable.

Brentford’s refusal to part with Wissa aligns with their broader transfer policy. The club is adamant about retaining all their key forward players, including Kevin Schade and Bryan Mbeumo.

Schade has attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund and Napoli, while Mbeumo is being monitored by Liverpool, Newcastle, and other top clubs.

In addition to fending off interest in their stars, Brentford are focused on bolstering their squad with the return of injured players.

Key defenders Aaron Hickey, Kristoffer Ajer, and Ethan Pinnock, along with striker Igor Thiago, remain sidelined but are expected to strengthen the team once fit.
