Salah joined the Reds in 2017 from Roma, with seven years locked down in one place, he has managed to score 243 goals, with 109 assists in 393 appearances.
The 32-year-old’s previous deal is understood to be worth more than £350,000-a-week and made him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
Speaking to the media, Liverpool manager Arne Slot said his happy that both parties had agreed on a deal. Salah has delivered an outstanding performance in all competitions on the field, and his such a team player that’s why his teammates were also excited and overjoyed over the news.
“What makes him special on the pitch is he can score goals, he can do it when he’s not in the best half hour or 15 minutes. That’s why he’s mentally so strong”.
He also added that Salah has always been judged as a player which has put a lot of weight on his shoulder to always deliver his best.
“We’re always trying to achieve a bit more as a team. But if you’re playing at Liverpool, you’re probably coming to the maximum level of your ability. So there is not a lot of room for improvement for Mo, or the other players anymore. So you’re trying to reach perfection.”
In January, rumors were circulating around the world that Salah might book a flight and move to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Clubs did approach the Anfield Club, but offers were rejected, with one of the Clubs being Al-Lttihad.
Saudi Arabia’s sports minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal told the media the forward would be “a big prize” and they “would love to have him”.
Announcing this deal , Liverpool took to social media and posted a picture of the player with a caption “Egyptian King” sat on a throne on the Anifield pitch ‘more in than out’. In an official statement Salah expressed his joy of staying with the club and his reason of deciding to stay.
“We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football. It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.”
This year’s Premier League title win seems to be now clear as it looks like Liverpool has this one in the bag. With Salah being the top goal scorer with 27 goals scored, and in partnership with his teammates, they have placed their team in first place.
