The historic track, known for its dramatic elevation changes and banked corners, will host its penultimate F1 race next weekend before bowing out after 2026, with a Sprint weekend planned as a final tribute.

The Dutch Grand Prix, which returned to the F1 calendar in 2021, has not always been kind to Hamilton. The seven-time world champion secured his best result at Zandvoort in 2021, finishing second behind Max Verstappen.

However, recent races have seen the Mercedes drivers finish fourth in 2022, sixth in 2023, and eighth in 2024. Despite these results, Hamilton remains a fan of the circuit’s unique character.

“It’s like an old house,” Hamilton said in an interview with Viaplay. “The circuit has imperfections, bumps, and hills that give it real personality. Unlike modern tracks built on flat land, Zandvoort was shaped by its natural terrain, making it one of the best circuits out there.

“The fans are incredible too, they bring so much energy to the race.”

The Zandvoort circuit, stretching 4.259 kilometers and nestled in the dunes of North Holland, challenges drivers with its rollercoaster-like layout. Red Bull drivers, including Verstappen, have echoed Hamilton’s sentiments, with posts on X highlighting their excitement for the passionate Dutch crowd and the track’s demanding corners.

McLaren drivers have also noted the circuit’s high-speed sections as a test of precision, according to recent team updates.

As Formula 1 emerges from its summer break, the Dutch Grand Prix marks the start of the season’s final 10 races. Teams are gearing up for 72 intense laps, with the event promising a thrilling spectacle for fans.

The circuit’s passionate orange-clad supporters are expected to create an electric atmosphere, as they have done since its F1 comeback.

With Zandvoort’s days on the calendar numbered, teams and drivers are eager to make lasting memories at this iconic venue. The 2025 Dutch Grand Prix is set to deliver high-speed action and heartfelt farewells.
