The Monegasque driver, alongside teammate Lewis Hamilton, has propelled Ferrari into second place in the constructors’ championship, despite trailing McLaren by 197 points.

Leclerc’s recent performances have been a bright spot for Ferrari, with three podium finishes in the last five races, including a second in Monaco and a third in Spain.

These results showcase the team’s ability to compete on tracks with contrasting demands, even as they grapple with ongoing balance and ride height issues.

“We know it’s going to be tough to catch McLaren, who have dominated early this season,” Leclerc said. “But we’re not giving up. With new parts coming, we’re aiming to take the lead in performance and fight for every point.”

While Leclerc acknowledged the challenge of predicting rival teams’ developments, he remained focused on Ferrari’s immediate goals.

“I don’t have visibility on what others are doing, so we’re concentrating on our own improvements,” he added. “We can’t afford to lose ground in too many races.”

Ferrari’s upgrades are expected to play a pivotal role as the season progresses, with the team hoping to build momentum at the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix. The 70-lap race around the 4.361-kilometer Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, set for June 15, will be a crucial test of Ferrari’s progress.

As the championship battle intensifies, Ferrari are determined to keep the pressure on McLaren and capitalize on every opportunity to close the gap.
