Management has already found a replacement for the 51-year-old with Laurent Mekies stepping in. Horner was the longest-serving team principal, having been in the position since Red Bull made its Formula One debut in 2005.

Under Horner’s leadership, Red Bull secured eight Drivers’ World Championships and six Constructors’ Championships. However, this season the team has faced challenges, currently sitting fourth in the constructors’ standings with 172 points. They are trailing the leaders, McLaren, by 288 points.
