The West Indies have a 50/50 record at the venue having won one and lost one in separate series against India in 2022 and 2023.

West Indies | England

Nicholas Pooran put in a star turn last time out but it wasn’t enough for the West Indies to close out the series.

Gudakesh Motie took a bit more punishment last time out but was still the most economical West Indies bowler and England can’t come to grips with him just yet.

The West Indies have a lot of batting weapons but don’t always get the pacing of an innings spot on, although they might have felt they had enough last time out.

Jason Holder and Andre Russell didn’t stand up to pressure with ball in hand and both will be determined to improve.

Phil Salt was the unsurprising England hero as he made good on the promise he has shown all tour long.

England need a repeat performance or at least an impressive top order knock to build around.

Jos Buttler has threatened to go big and if he does, England will have a big chance of coming out on top.

Harry Brook’s brilliant finish to the innings last time out only makes it clear that England have not made the best use of his talents.

Verdict: England

England have turned the corner and with self belief will be tough to stop.
