England v West Indies | 3rd T20I | Tuesday 10 June | Rose Bowl, Southampton | 7:30pm

The West Indies are having a tough tour of England and have yet to win a single game. They are currently trailing 2-0 in the T20I series, and they lost the ODI series 3-0.

Tuesday’s game is of little significance as the series has already been won by England. The Windies will be looking to salvage some pride while the hosts will be keen to secure the whitewash.

Although they are well-suited to the T20 format, the West Indies are without a win in their last five games in the format.

The West Indies have won just one of their last five games against England.

Venue: The Rose Bowl, Southampton
Tuesday’s encounter will be the 13th T20I played at Hampshire’s Rose Bowl.

England have won 50 percent of the games they have played in Southampton with six wins from 12 games.

This will be the West Indies first T20I at the venue.

The highest score at the Rose Bowl belongs to Australia, who posted 248 for six back in 2013.

There is a distinct bias in the results with the side that bats first winning five of the last seven games played at the venue.

Even though teams batting first win 71 percent of the games, the captain winning the toss has elected to bat second in five of the last seven games at the Rose Bowl. That means there is a big correlation between winning the toss and losing the game.

Weather:

It’s due to rain in Southampton on Tuesday so the final game of the series could be interrupted. It is only showers that are predicted but they are due to keep coming until well into the evening. It won’t be too cold with temperatures hitting 20 degrees at their peak and 12 at their lowest. The wind will be moderate at just over 20kph. While there is some rain on the cards, it should be clearing and the game, while it may be affected, should nevertheless be completed.

Form (most recent game first):
England: W, W, L, l, W.
West Indies: L, L, L, L, L.

Key player:

England, Jos Buttler: He is far and away the leading run scorer in the series thus far with 143 runs from his two innings. He was in great form in the IPL, and he has transferred his good run seamlessly to the current series. Expect more from him on Tuesday as he continues to flourish without the weight of captaincy on his shoulders.

West Indies, Johnson Charles: Powerful and aggressive at the top of the order, Charles was looking good for the Windies before he was bowled for 47 in the second T20I. He is the West Indies highest scorer in the series to date with 65 runs at an average of 32.5. His highest T20I score is 118 and he would love to end the series with a reminder of just how good he can be.

Verdict: England
The Windies are due a victory, but England have found their mojo, and, after a long lean patch, they are enjoying building a winning culture once again. It is looking good for the home side and while, on their day, the West Indies can beat anyone, expect them to be beaten on Tuesday and for England to make it a series clean sweep.
