BRIGHTON
Race 2 No1 LOOBY (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Hills – Jockey: Saffie Osborne
As the only winner in the field, Horse Whisperer has to be taken seriously, but one that could have been hiding her light under a bushel is LOOBY. The Havana Grey filly contested a couple of strong maiden at Windsor and Newmarket before hating the soft ground at Goodwood. On this better terrain she can put her best foot forward.
Race 5 No6 JUNOESQUE (Each Way)
Trainer: John Gallagher – Jockey: Darragh Keenan
As a standing dish at this specialists track JUNOESQUE can gain a deserved change of luck. The veteran has a good opportunity to get onto an easy lead, as was the case when she was denied late in the game over course and distance two weeks ago. Under a new pilot she can make this a ninth success at Brighton.
Race 6 No6 MADRINHO (Each Way)
Trainer: Tony Carroll- Jockey: Jason Watson
MADRINHO has knocked on the door with a couple of near misses on successive visits here in the summer. Moving back up to a mile can assist the ten-year-old, who can turn the tables on recent conqueror Reel Power for a trainer whose runners are always finely tuned for pickings at this venue.
CHEPSTOW
Race 4 No6 SOLRAY
Trainer: Jane Chapple-Hyam – Jockey: Marco Ghiani
New Bay colt SOLRAY created a favourable impression when in the money on his introduction at Windsor. He had Laoisman ahead of him but that one has had plenty of chances, while the selection should improve in bundles and hails from a trainer/jockey combination that have been amongst the winners.
Race 5 No4 ON EDGE (Nap)
Trainer: Chris Mason – Jockey: Gina Mangan
A regular earner at this track, ON EDGE is more likely to reproduce his form than many in this sprint handicap. Mangan has a good record on the gelding and there’s no doubt he reacts well to the female touch, both his career successes having happened at this course with girl apprentices in his saddle.
Race 6 No3 MONTIVIDEO (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Joe Fanning
Teofilo filly MONTIVIDEO returns from a freshening break with a good opportunity to open her account on the long haul from North Yorkshire. Her third placing at Haydock in June is the best form on offer, and in an admittedly tight-knit affair she can get the better of Brora Breeze.
WINDSOR
Race 3 No10 ST LUKES CHELSEA (Each Way)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
This is a tricky card in which the only advice is ST LUKES CHELSEA. The son of Territories finished well behind a runaway winner at Salisbury but it represented a fair step up from his first outing. At their respective prices Ralph Beckett’s colt represents better value than favourite Havanagreattime.
