ALULA’S STAR ran a fair race in the Grade 3 WSB Tommy Hotspur Stakes last time. She has won once and finished second three times from seven starts over this distance. With a bit of luck in running, she can notch up her sixth career victory.

RAIN IN HOLLAND raced wide around the turn in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time and understandably lacked a finish in the straight. She has won four times and finished third twice from as many starts over this distance. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle. She takes a drop in class and on best form shown, should take a power of beating.

FULL VELOCITY has good consistent form lines to her credit. She returns from a 13-week break which would have done her the world of good. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from six starts over this C&D. Gavin Lerena rides on her return and the combination should be competitive.

PERMESSO AVANTI should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung in the final 200m. Her penultimate run when second over this C&D catches the eye. She carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and Keagan de Melo may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
