Selections: 5/8/1

KILLER INSTINCT beat a few of these and just missed by a nose on the All Weather last time. He will just have to reproduce that type of effort to find himself in the winner’s enclosure. SUN OF MAKFI finished three lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and must also be strongly considered in this opening contest.

07:30 – Race 2 | Class 3 | 1650m | All Weather

ROYAL BOMB was an impressive winner on the All Weather last time. Jamie Kah has kept faith in the ride and the combination can make it quick back-to-back wins. TRUE LEGEND is nicely weighted with an apprentice aboard. He is likely to dictate matters and may be difficult to peg back in the closing stages.

08:00 – Race 3 | Class 2 | 1600m

Selections: 9/6/5

BEAUTY ETERNAL is a talent on the rise and has backed up favourite status in his last two outings. He will have plenty of followers despite this being his toughest test to date. CALIFORNIA TEN ran on strongly from the rear of the field and was only beaten half a length last time. He is likely to settle just off the speed and will be doing his best work in the final furlong.

08:30 – Race 4 | Class 4 | 1200m

HAPPY FOR ALL won by a neck under James Macdonald in his first start and would have come on nicely with that run under the belt. BRAVE DREAMS has consistent form lines to his credit. He has finished runner-up in his last two starts under Zac Purton and will be looking to go on better.

09:00 – Race 5 | Class 3 | 1000m

Selections: 3/4/5

SUPERB BOY was beaten half a length by METRO WARRIOR in his last outing. The pair meet on similar terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them when they hit the line. LUCKY EIGHT was only beaten a neck at Happy Valley last time. Both of his career wins have come on this course and he is a genuine contender in this line-up.

09:35 – Race 6 | Class 4 | 1400m

Selections: 7/2/8

THUNDERBOLTAURUS and UNPRESUMING are improving sorts and have both trialed since their last runs. The top selection has cracked a better draw and he definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. WAR WEAPON was only beaten a couple of lengths by Fast Buck last time. Brazilian-ace Silvestre De Sousa takes the ride and could be one to fill the trifecta spot.

10:05 – Race 7 | Group 1 | 2000m

ROMANTIC WARRIOR was only beaten a length by the ‘The Champ’ in the Group 1 Stewards Cup one month ago. The 10-furlong journey is right up his alley and is capable of turning the tables on his recent conqueror. GOLDEN SIXTY absolutely oozes class and it will be no surprise to see him rack up his 24th career win.

10:40 – Race 8 Class 3 | 1800m

WOODFIRE BRO’S form is hard to fault and he was a narrow winner in his last start defeating Champion Dragon. He has cracked a neat draw and comes in at the top of the weights. HAPPY TOGETHER won his last start on this course over a mile and can follow up if seeing out the extra furlong on offer.

11:15 – Race 9 | HK Classic Cup | 1800m

Selections: 4/8/10

TUCHEL was reeling in pacesetter VOYAGE BUBBLE over a mile last time. He should appreciate the extra furlong and is a big runner in the Hong Kong Classic Cup. SUPER SUNNY SING is going for four wins on the trot and the manner in which he drew off to win his last start suggests he should see out this distance.

11:50 – Race 10 | Class 3 | 1400m

BEAUTY MISSILE produced an eye-catching first run in Hong Kong when beaten a neck by Super Dynamite. The Hong Kong Champion Jockey jumps aboard and he should take a power of beating. The South African-bred PARTERRE finished half a length behind the top selection in the race already mentioned and must also be strongly considered in the lucky last!
