TRONIC MIGHTY followed up his recent win well when beaten a neck by healthy rival G One Excellent and is hard to oppose in this opening contest. He meets the right field, and it is encouraging that Purton has kept faith in the ride.
13:15 – Race 2 | Class 5 – 2200m
Selections: 5/6/9
SKY GEM and BARON ZEE were only separated by half a length over nine furlongs last time out. The pair meet on similar weight terms and there shouldn’t be much between them when they hit the line. WAH MAY LUCK isn’t too consistent, but he has some decent form lines to his credit and can enter the frame.
13:45 – Race 3 | Class 4 – 1000m

CHEVAL VALIANT is very quick out the gates and is likely to show-off his customary pace once again. Veteran jockey Bowman takes the ride and he may be able to coax a little extra out of him where it matters most. HANDSOME REBEL has placed in a Group 3 and was only beaten a couple of lengths in his last start. He is nicely weighted and could be one to fill the exacta spot.
14:15 – Race 4 | Class 4 | 1650m

SUNNY DELIGHT was pipped by Super Baby over this C&D last time and has been racing well. He is nicely handicapped and should give another good account of himself. KUNG FU TEA followed up his recent win with a fair effort when beaten three lengths by E Legend. He runs well for Ferraris and is a genuine contender in this line-up.
14:45 – Race 5 | Class 4 | 1200m

VICTORY SCHOLARS went close under this apprentice last time. He has cracked pole position and will have plenty of followers. INFINITE POWER was beaten just under a length by Hoss last time and can challenge the top selection if overcoming the wide draw.
15:15 – Race 6 | Class 4 | 1650m

EIGHTEEN PALMS produced an eye-catching debut when beaten just under a length by the grey Legion Of Merit. He would have come on nicely with that run under the belt and from pole, may prove hard to beat. The South African-bred SMILING TIME has finished close-up behind the winner in all his outings since his triumph at the end of October. LONDON LUCKYSTAR drew off impressively to win his last start under Chau. He takes a step up in class and may be up to the task at hand.
15:45 – Race 7 | Class 4 | 1200m

RATTAN KINGDOM finished just under a length behind RIGHTEOUS ARION last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. SON PAK FU has placed in his last two starts, is nicely weighted with 53kgs on his back and can run into the money.
16:15 – Race 8 | Class 3 | 1200m
Selections: 5/1/8
WINNING ICEY challenged strongly in his last start despite racing wide into the straight. He has cracked a better draw and should be one of the leading contenders. CALIFORNIA CIBLE is nicely weighted with apprentice Chung aboard and should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest.
16:50 – Race 9 | Class 3 | 1650m

JUMBO LEGEND is a talented sort from the Fownes yard. He looked a winner last time when beaten the narrowest of margins by Rising From Ashes. He was a beaten favourite on that occasion and will be looking to make amends. NIMBLE NIMBUS has placed in his last two starts and must also be considered in the lucky last!
