DELGANY MONARCH Lingfield, February 20th

Although his stable has been slow in finding some form, DELGANY MONARCH will surely add to its laurels, as fences appear to be bringing out the best in him. The gelding attracted support before his race on Monday and kept on well for a minor check to indicate he wants every yard of three miles. As that was only his second outing over fences there should be more to come.

IVALDI Ascot, February 18th

The giant IVALDI was anchored at the back, racing with his head low to the ground in this three miles handicap hurdle. His jockey didn’t make any move on him until turning into the short home straight, where he started to pick off some of his weakening rivals. He continued to stay on to grab a minor cheque which prompted Harry Cobden to report to the Stewards that his mount was too free. IVALDI is a horse that needs a furious pace to come off and granted that, he can bag a decent prize before his attention is switched to fences next season.

WOODSTOCK Southwell, February 10th

Sixties Icon colt WOODSTOCK attracted plenty of late support for this mile maiden and looked for much of the trip like justifying it. He appeared to know his job a lot more than the majority of first-timers from his stable, and though looking to have things covered approaching the final furlong was ultimately run down by 20/1 roughie Create who is unlikely to beat the second should they meet again.
