Neil Morrice provides his best bets and tips for Wednesday’s racing at Chepstow, Musselburgh, Nottingham and Kempton Park.
CHEPSTOW – 03/11/2021
Race 1 No7 GOOD RISK AT ALL
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
Cheltenham and Newbury bumper scorer GOOD RISK AT ALL has strong claims on a first run over hurdles today. He’s done everything right in his preparation, and has a bright future in front of him.
Race 3 No9 CUSHUISH (Each Way)
Trainer: Bob Buckler – Jockey: Sean Houlihan
Fences brought out the best in Yeats mare CUSHUISH when she scored at Wincanton and Worcester in the spring. She can show that she’s continued to go the right way with an earning run on this return to action.
Race 5 No3 AMARILLO SKY
Trainer: Colin Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell
AMARILLO SKY had nothing left after trying to lead throughout in the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las. However, he could have just needed that first run since May, and in calmer waters today can figure.
Race 6 No2 BRAVE KINGDOM (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
BRAVE KINGDOM should prove a bet worth waiting for in this novices’ hurdle. The former Irish pointer made all and came home unchallenged on his only start under Rules in a Fontwell bumper. Since changing stables he’s undergone a wind operation, and can show with a win on this first outing over hurdles that he’s a horse to follow.
MUSSELBURGH – 03/11/2021
Race 4 No1 GOUET DES BRUYERES (Nap)
Trainer: Oliver Greenall – Jockey: Craig Nichol
With a win at Worcester and a near miss at Ludlow in the autumn, GOUET DES BRUYERES set himself up for a bountiful end of year campaign. He will start favourite for this two mile handicap chase, but can show he’s worthy of that and return to winning ways.
Race 6 No1 THE FERRY MASTER
Trainer: Sandy Thomson – Jockey: Ryan Mania
One of the nicest horses on view today, THE FERRY MASTER can bring his A-game to the table in this long distance handicap chase, and show that he has bright horizons in front of him. He came to hand early last season, and is ready for this return to the fray.
NOTTINGHAM – 03/11/2021
Race 4 No4 BAZALGETTE (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand
BAZALGETTE was arguably unlucky here last month when his chance was compromised by a poor break from the stalls. The grey then had to be checked when looking for racing real estate in the closing stages. The Clodovil colt was cost more ground than he was beaten by, and can make no mistake this time.
Race 8 No16 MEADOW SPRITE
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Miss Sophie Smith
From her place at the foot of the weights MEADOW SPRITE is worthy of an earning run in the nightcap. The Slade Power filly appreciated a switch onto turf when opening her account at Yarmouth and should be even more effective with cheek pieces added.
KEMPTON PARK – 03/11/2021
Race 1 No13 PETAL POWER (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Thore Hammer Hansen
PETAL POWER has earned on each of her last four starts combining turf with the all-weather. She battled when headed at Leicester last time, and despite a wider draw than ideal, should be competitive again.
Race 7 No7 RUMI (Nap)
Trainer: Roger Charlton – Jockey: Hollie Doyle
Harzand gelding RUMI displayed a liking for this track when successfully returning from a break last time. He is a lightly-raced individual capable of running up a sequence off his current mark, and will be hard to beat.
