Race 2 No11 CALSHOT SPIT (Each Way)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Charles Bishop
CALSHOT SPIT operated effectively under both racing codes before being forced onto the sidelines through injury. His trainer has a penchant for getting a tune out of a horse following a lay off which could apply to this speculative selection.
Race 4 No5 DIVIDE AND CONQUER (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett- Jockey: Rossa Ryan
Camelot filly DIVIDE AND CONQUER made a favourable impression when narrowly denied in an Ascot introduction that’s been heavily boosted. The 320,000 guineas purchase is going to know more about what’s required and should bilge as a short favourite.
Race 7 No10 LEGENDSOFTHELAND (Each Way)
Trainer: Adrian Wintle : Jockey: Joe Leavy
LEGENDSOFTHELAND has a happy knack of finishing in the money and from a handy mark towards the foot of the weights can again trouble the judge. The three times winner carded each of those this season and most recently went down by half a length to an unconsidered roughie over today’s course and distance. He has a good draw and can make this a tenth earning run in as many starts since undergoing a breathing operation.

Race 1 No2 EMPIRESTATEOFMIND
Trainer: John Quinn – Jockey: Jack Callan
EMPIRESTATEOFMIND went up 3lbs for his narrow defeat by Bradbury last week but there was no disgrace in that, as the winner is very talented when on a going day. My selection has every chance of taking the spoils as one of the best Tuesday bets.
Race 4 No1 MISUNDERSTOOD
Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: Danny Tudhope
MISUNDERSTOOD carried our money at Beverley last week, but this strong traveller probably got to the front too soon. He was worried out of a place in the final strides but is more than capable of turning it round as long as his jockey hangs on to him until as late as he dare.
Race 6 No8 ASHEN (Nap)
Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan
ASHEN attracted support when second at Hamilton last week to suggest he’s getting closer to a return to winning ways. He receives more than a stone from paper favourite BELSITO, and can go be better.
SEDGEFIELD
Race 5 No4 MARY (Nap)
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Charlie Todd
A drop in trip can work the oracle for MARY to card a first success over fences. While a shade disappointing at Uttoxeter and Stratford she should be more averse to the rudiments of jumping the larger obstacles, and can make the journey from Birmingham rewarding.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 2 No1 ARUNDEL
Trainer: Ed Dunlop – Jockey: Billy Loughnane
Loughnane struck up a good partnership with ARUNDEL when the combination triumphed at Kempton last week. The Make Believe gelding has to carry a 5lb penalty but this contest has cut up in his favour, and he can follow-up.
Race 4 No1 DISTILLATION
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: Rose Dawes
DISTILLATION powered to an eight lengths triumph over the course and distance last week when forcing tactics paid handsome dividends. The gelding targets a quick follow-up under a 12lb higher mark, but should be equal to the task n hand.
Race 8 No4 KEV (Nap)
Trainer: William Muir – Jockey: Hector Crouch
KEV is unexposed over this distance and with a win and second placing in recent starts looks more in the zone than the majority of his opponents. He should prove hard to beat in this first division of the mile handicap.
