Djokovic last played at the China Open in 2015, when he faced Rafael Nadal in the final and won 6–2, 6–2 to claim his sixth title at the tournament.

Now, after more than a decade away, Djokovic is set to return to Beijing, where he has never lost a singles match.

Posting on his Instagram account, the 39-year-old posted, “I am excited to come back and perform in front of all of you at the National Tennis Centre – one of the nicest venues we have in tennis”.

The 2026 China Open will take place from September 30 to October 6. The tournament was first held in 1993, meaning it has been around for more than 30 years, although it was not held every year.
