Atletico Madrid have signed Canada international forward Jonathan David on loan from Serie A giants Juventus for the 2026/27 campaign.
The 26-year-old attacker joins the La Liga club on a season long loan with an option to buy following just one year spent in Italy for Juve, where he contributed with eight goals and five assists in 47 appearances.
He becomes the seventh major signing for The Mattress Makers this summer after the acquisitions of Morten Hjulmand, Kang-in Lee, Cristian Romero, Alejandro Grimaldo and Arnau Ortiz.
David will primarily compete with controversial Argentina star Julian Alvarez following Atleti’s decision to retain his services despite his desire to move to Barcelona this summer and heavy Arsenal interest.
The all-time top goal scorer for Canada will look to reclaim the form that saw him thrive at Ligue 1 club Lille before his move to Juventus ahead of last season.
