Lewis Hamilton is hoping to rebound from a disappointing Belgian Grand Prix by fighting for victory at this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix.
The seven-time Formula 1 world champion endured a frustrating outing at Spa-Francorchamps, but remains encouraged by the strides his team has made in recent races.
Hamilton also celebrated a milestone earlier this season by claiming his maiden win with his current outfit, underlining what has otherwise been a strong campaign.
Now the Briton has his sights set on another triumph at the Hungaroring, where he already owns the record for the most victories. Hamilton has taken the chequered flag at the Budapest circuit on eight occasions, although his latest success there came in 2020.
“I’m hoping we can be [competitive],” Hamilton told media.
“Well, firstly, I need to come correct next week and make sure I deliver the way I know I can deliver in Budapest.
“We have to come and fight for that win.”
Speaking on Ferrari’s recent improvements, he added: “It’s definitely really encouraging. The team have been making great decisions with strategy.
“We’ve really elevated a lot across the board in how we operate on the weekend.
“Then [in Spa] we had the pace to win. Given everything, to come away with the points, I’m really grateful.”
