Harry Kane has not shut the door on his England future after the Three Lions ended their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with victory over France.
England claimed a 6-4 win in the third-place play-off on Saturday, although the Bayern Munich striker did not feature and remained an unused substitute throughout the match.
With Kane set to celebrate his 33rd birthday later this month, questions have already been raised over whether he has played his final World Cup for England. By the time the 2030 tournament begins, the England captain will be 36.
However, Kane said he is not thinking that far ahead and believes his performances will determine how long he continues to represent his country.
“I think you know me as a person by now. I’m coming off my best season ever, and I’m 32, nearly 33,” Kane said.
“It’s impossible to say; four years is obviously a long way away. Playing for England is my biggest ambition, my proudest thing to do. I feel as good as I’ve ever felt.
“Let’s see. As long as I’m performing, I’ll be representing England. That’s just the way it is.”
Kane remains England’s all-time leading goalscorer and has found the net 85 times in 121 international appearances.
