YARMOUTH

Race 1 No1 PLEASANT MAN (Nap)
Trainer: Joey Ramsden – Jockey: Alfie Redman

Following his deserving Doncaster success, PLEASANT MAN can follow-up racing off a 3lb higher mark. It was reward for a number of good efforts in defeat, while this race appears to have fallen apart, and into his lap.

Race 4 No2 SIR EDWARD LEAR
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Mason Paetel

SIR EDWARD LEAR hasn’t been quite at his best on two outings this season, but the visored five-year-old may benefit from having an accomplished apprentice taking 5lb off his back. He’s in an open heat, but is in good order and fancied to put his best foot forward.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 1 No2 INNICHEN (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

The arrival of nurseries is a godsend to INNICHEN, who has always shaped like a colt that could profit when going down the handicap route. The son of Mehmas returns from a mid season break, he’s been working well and can back up his clear cut Pontefract triumph when last seen at the end of April.

Race 3 No3 SEED YA LATER
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

From the same stable, SEED YA LATER makes abundant appeal on nursery debut. The Bungle Inthejungle filly had three quick races in the spring but is fresh from a two month break, and fancied to add to her Musselburgh success and placed efforts at Bath.

NEWBURY

Race 2 No14 TOPAZ (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand

TOPAZ was outclassed when 15th in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot but had previously put in a very good run when second at Newmarket. Now in calmer waters she can take care of business, and give her trainer a first winner for owners Highclere Thoroughbreds.

Race 3 No1 ALASKAN BEAR
Trainer: J Davison – Jockey: Hector Crouch

ALASKAN BEAR showed with his frame finish against subsequent Coventry Stakes winner Great Barrier Reef that he’s more than capable of picking up a race of this nature, which represents a class drop for the son of Kodiak. It’s easily the strongest form line in this novice, and makes him a worthy favourite.

Race 4 No11 KENNINGTON
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: David Probert

Ardad filly KENNINGTON greatly impressed with the way she put a Lingfield novice away when returned to tonight’s trip of 1400 metres. The grey rates a good prospect for handicaps, and although lacking the experience of all her 14 opponents, possesses more scope for improvement than them.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 3 No3 INDIAN LAND
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Land Force colt INDIAN LAND left his first run miles behind when showing that he’d learned plenty from it by scoring at Wolverhampton. What I liked about that display was how he was the first to be ridden along, but dug deep into his stamina resources to wear down a clear leader. Also encouraging about his chances is another step up in trip to 1400 metres, and in the colours of Jeff Smith he can follow up.

Race 4 No2 BLUE PRINCE (Nap)
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

BLUE PRINCE did this column a good turn when landing the Nap vote at Salisbury, and back on the all-weather I expect him to follow up. He’d looked unlucky not to win on a previous outing at Goodwood when coming from a long way back, but with that recent confidence boosting success underneath him he has the bit firmly between his teeth.

Race 7 No9 ARCTIC WND (Each Way)
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

On what could be a good day for the Evans/Rossa Ryan combo, ARCTIC WIND should give us a decent run for our money in this sprint handicap. He’s troubled the judge on both starts since joining his trainer, and on now a second AW outing has scope for progression.
