La Roja made a flying start when Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring after just two minutes with an excellent long-range finish. The forward was a constant threat and could have added another before the break but fired over from a promising position.

Spain remained firmly in control and doubled their advantage shortly after the half-hour mark. Ferran Torres produced a smart pass across goal and Pedri arrived to finish calmly, rewarding his side’s dominance.

Peru attempted to respond before half-time and created several opportunities of their own. Adrian Ugarriza went close from inside the penalty area, while Johnny Vidales also missed the target as Spain carried a deserved two-goal lead into the interval.

The European side extended their advantage eight minutes into the second half when Yeremy Pino’s cross caused confusion in the Peru defence and goalkeeper Pedro Gallese accidentally turned the ball into his own net.

Peru pulled a goal back in the 66th minute through Jairo Velez, who collected an excellent pass from Marcos Lopez before finishing confidently beyond David Raya. However, Spain remained comfortable during the closing stages and secured another impressive victory.

After the match, Spain coach Luis de la Fuente praised his players and reflected on another positive performance ahead of the World Cup.

“We conveyed to the players that the technical staff is proud of them, and we highlighted what we achieved,” De la Fuente said.

“From this moment, we will think about the next World Cup. We had good possession of the ball, maybe we needed some courage to shoot on goal.”

The Spain boss also delivered encouraging news regarding the fitness of several key players. Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and Victor Munoz, who remained in Chattanooga to continue their recovery programmes, are all progressing as planned.

De la Fuente confirmed that the trio will be available for selection at the World Cup, giving Spain a significant boost as they prepare for their opening Group H match against Cape Verde.
