The 29-year-old forward was substituted in the first half and replaced by Goncalo Ramos on the final day of the Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG head coach Luis Enrique initially suggested the change was linked to fatigue, but the club later revealed the decision had been taken as a precaution.

In an official medical update released on Monday, PSG said: “Ousmane Dembele, who was taken off as a precaution during last night’s match against Paris FC due to a muscle strain in his right calf, will remain under treatment for the next few days.”

The timing of the injury has created fresh concern for the French champions ahead of their UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on 30 May.

Dembele has been one of PSG’s most important players this season and recently collected the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award for the second consecutive campaign. Despite struggling with injuries earlier in the season, the France international still delivered impressive numbers in the league, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists in 22 appearances.

He also played a decisive role in Europe, scoring seven Champions League goals this season. His performances against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals proved especially important, with Dembele finding the net in both legs to help PSG reach the final.

The winger has also been included in France’s 26-man squad for this summer’s World Cup, which begins on 11 June. PSG’s medical staff will now work to ensure he is fit in time for the biggest match of the club’s season against Premier League leaders Arsenal.
