The word on the football streets is that former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso could become the next manager of Chelsea F.C after the club sacked Liam Rosenior only four months into the job.

Chelsea decided to make a change after the team lost five matches in a row. The 3-0 defeat against Brighton was the final nail in the coffin.

Chelsea management wants quick results, and they felt the team was not improving under Rosenior.

But there are still questions about whether Alonso would be the right coach for Chelsea. While he did very well at Bayer  Leverkusen, his time at Real Madrid was not easy.

At Real Madrid, Alonso had problems in the dressing room and struggled to control some senior players. Some players looked uninterested in training, and performances became poor. Alonso also felt that some experienced players had too much power at the club, which made it difficult for him to keep discipline in the squad.

Things also became worse on the pitch after a strong start. Real Madrid’s performances dropped, and losing in the Spanish Super Cup increased the pressure on him. In the end, Alonso and the club decided to part ways.

Another concern is whether Chelsea’s players can understand and adapt to Alonso’s style of play. His tactics worked perfectly at Bayer Leverkusen because the players fully trusted his system and worked hard for him. Chelsea is a very different environment with more pressure and bigger personalities in the squad.

Chelsea has changed managers a number of times in recent years, and several coaches have struggled to get consistent results.

Sky Sports Senior journalist Kaveh Solhekol feels like Xabi Alonso has a big decision to make if he’s offered the Chelsea job.

“I think he’s one of several leading managers who know that there are a lot of big jobs potentially becoming available this summer. So he has to be careful where he chooses to go next.

“The Chelsea job is still very attractive. Okay, it’s going to be a difficult job for several reasons, but Chelsea is still one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they’re based in the capital city, London.

“ Fantastic facilities. A lot of managers would like to go there. Now, if it comes down to somebody’s CV, I’m of the firm opinion that Xabi Alonso has the best CV out of all the candidates Chelsea are speaking to.
